If January 2025 ends on a negative note, then this will be the 4th Consecutive Negative Month for Nifty50. And this has not happened for 24+ years!
Update (31-Jan-2025) – January 2025 actually did end in a negative of -0.58%
The last time Nifty had a run of 4 consecutive negative months was during the period Jun-Sep 2001.

And since then, we have had 9 streaks of 3 consecutive negative months, but none have extended to a 4th negative month.
This (10th) time, it is –> October (-6.2%), November (-0.3%), December (-2.0%) and January (currently -2.1%).
As of 22-Jan-2025, Nifty is at 23,155.35. to finish on a positive side and break the negative streak, it needs to close above 23645. And we have about 7 days left in the month. Let’s see what happens and whether Nifty50 does create a bit of (not so great) history!
